changin case

i boughta dell 2350 a lil time ago
and ive been addin more hdds in
and the case doenst like have places to put em
so i was wonderin if i can just like change the case of it
and get somethin else from like new egg
i have a dvd drive, cdrw and a floppy
and 4 hdds
i wanna case thatll store that and like a couple more hdds
can it be done?
if so.. what do i needa get?

I think you may have to use a dell case but it really just depends on the mobo matching up to the expansion bays and any other ports like front side usb, sound, etc... I have tried this with some older dells and it was all good except for the above mentioned. In other words, it didnt work out. You could ask dell but i doubt they would advise you simply cause they want to sell their own products. Newegg is sometimes more expensive than aaronix, or directron. Pricewatch has been known to have good deals as well. Check out aaronix though for cases. They got some for only $15 and they are nice. Maybe one of them has a forum you can inquire to.

If you decided to use a dell case, they might help in that regard and changing cases it fairly simple. If you go that route and they recommend a compatable case, pm me and i will gladly talk you through it.

Yeah he is right cause I had alot of probs with matchin up those ports and expansion slots. In one case it would fit ok but the clearance for a standard pci card wouldnt work. I would have needed a way bigger card .
Basically you gotta use a Dell case. btw is your case a reg desktop, thin desktop, minitower, midtower?

Nm the Q about the case, I went and checked it out myself to see what you got goin on there. I took a pic from the site and just did a fast drawing case mod for ya. I dont know if you have the room for it but you can check it out and let me know if this would suit ya. I will email it to you if I cant get it to post here.

has 6 dedicated slots for HDDs, 2 slots for floppys (so also for hdds) and 4 slots for cd/dvd drives.

Hmmm... Not sure if the 4500 series dells are compatible with the 2500 series. It might be possible. I would have to see the 4500 series case before I could be absolutely possitive though. I think it will be difficult to find a dell case used unless you can find one on ebay or something. You might have better luck with my case mod idea if you have the room. You could fabricate your own bracket and utilize the space to support more hdd drives, thus freeing up the 5 1/2" bays needed for your rom drives. I have seen this done before and you can even have the hdd drives gap 1/16" between them with the use of a fan to keep them cool. I was amazed when I saw this for the first time cause I never seen 5 hard drives and 2 rom drives in a mid tower case before. You could even use open air architecture to help keep the heat down by leaving the side panel off. It would be easier to dust off periodically as well.
