Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban - Critical Error

Hi,

When I try play Harry Potter I recieve a "critical Error" message (show below)

I did search previous threads to find a solution to this error. Tried the supposed workarounds from EA games - with no success.

Here is the error message I get after I install :

=============================================
No Label

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel Unknown processor @ 2408 MHz with 511MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce3 (5672)

Bad name index 1027/680

History: ULinkerLoad<<FName <- (LinkerLoad Transient.LinkerLoad12 26243699)) <- FObjectImport<< <- LoadImportMap <- ULinkerLoad::ULinkerLoad <- UObject::GetPackageLinker <- ULinkerLoad::VerifyImport <- ValidateImports <- ULinkerLoad::Verify <- ULinkerLoad::ULinkerLoad <- UObject::GetPackageLinker <- ULinkerLoad::VerifyImport <- ValidateImports <- ULinkerLoad::Verify <- ULinkerLoad::ULinkerLoad <- UObject::GetPackageLinker <- UObject::StaticLoadObject <- (Core.Class hgame.hgame NULL) <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- InitGameInfo <- UGameEngine::LoadMap <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

==============================================

I have the latest Nvidia drivers(56.72), latest directX, enabled Direct3D. Had no errors during installation. Tried playing on Win98 only to get the same message (except for the OS at the top)

What could be causing the problem. Could one of the fiules be corrupted during the extraction process?

Is there any other suggestions?

From EA Technical support page:

Question: Why do I get the following error upon attempting to launch the game?

No Label

OS: (os info)
CPU: (cpu info)
Video: No Video

Answer: Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling Direct3D Acceleration in the Display1/2 tab after installing DirectX 8.1b (or later) and the latest drivers for your graphics card.

==============================================

No I'm not using orignals.

Already tried EA support. It didn't help. The error message solution was there, but the implamenting the solution didn't make any differance.

You have now broken a forum rule. Good job.

Send a message via ICQ to dede
For LUCIEL nforce chipset

For luciel, Hi, you have ddram on all dim's (1 gig) so the dim1 & dim3 give DUAL channel mode as ram drive, you are sure your ram is compatible with dual channel mode ? and if you use single channel mode, (only use dim1 & dim2) you are sure your dram is 100% compatible with Nforce chipset? the nforce chipset are realy sensible with the quality of ram, generic ram are not supported look by your manufacterer the list of compatible ram chips for this motherboard. incompatible ram chips give unexplicated errors. sorry for bad english i am french.

hey dede, i use DDR400 (2 512 chips) Dual Chanell and yes i am sure my nforce motherboard A7N8X-E Deluxe supports it, had it for 2 months now and no problems at all, so if ur idea is buying this kind of ram, make sure u buy this motherboard.

And to the other buy, BULL****, im no expert but a message like NO LABEL could mean the cd has the wrong label therefor not an original.

Heu Luci, I know I've got a legit CD. I have it in front of me! I wanted to get a solution without returning it, because it might not be the CD that is faulty, but maybe some compatibality issues... So just watch what you say.

are you stupid or something? I just said I asked the question because it might have just needed a workaround. Error messages don't always mean you have to return the CDs back to the shop.

If you don't have an answer except take the CDs back, then just keep it shut and try not to spout oout baseless accusations.
