bunring speed problem plz help!
Hi,
my dvd burner is 8x, the media i use is 1-4x but when i try to burn at 4x, it says cant burn at 4x due to drive restriction so i hav to use 2x. Is there any problem with my HDD? (its 120GB and 8MB of buffer) The same thing happens with my cd burner, i can only burn at 24x while the max speed is 52. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Thanks oops, i guess i'm in the wrong forum, sorry

Just a couple of ideas...
On the dvd side the burn speed problem could be due to the discs that you are using...a lot of the dvd/rw's do not support some of the cheaper media so will on burn at a reduced rate ..a firmware update on your unit my make it more acceptable to a wider range of media. But as a good guide stick to genuine Ritek brands..ie:- traxdada/ridata ....don't go for cheaper that say they use riteck dye. The other thing to look at is your system resourses..ie processor power/ memory / and what programs are running in the background because is won't make a lot of difference if you've got a 8mb buffer on the drive if the processor and memory on the puter is over utilized. |
