NTSC Playstation on PAL TV - Anyway to fix?

Hi,
currently i have an NTSC playstation and i want to run it on my PAL only tv. I have everything connected except that the problem is that the screen is black and white and keeps flicking. My playstation can only play ntsc games so there is no use doing NTSC to PAL or buying PAL games.

Is there anyway to stop this flickering and make it colour? I would be looking for methods other than purchasing new equipment

hey, i'm wondering if:
ImportPlayer or ImportPlayer Light, would work to fix my problem?

Since my playstation only boots up NTSC's i wonder if this would work.

importplayer does not work at all.

Hmm...thats a bit odd, I currently have a Playstation and just purchased a new television. The PSX is PAL and I dont have a mod-chip (i use the swap trick to play imported games) but with the new TV i can play NTSC imported games without any hassles...... (ie. backup/imported from malaysia lol games on a PAL PSX with a new TV that can handle NTSC with no color or monitor troubles)....

just try out the NTSC game on a new PAL TV and see if it can handle the NTSC discs.

You need a NTSC to PAL convertor box for ur tv. Also chip your PSX and you can then buy your PAL games or where eva u want to get them... All problems sorted

are you using a scart lead or a plain old RF aerial lead?

when i first played an NTSC game on a PAL PSX on a PAL TV it was in black and white. i binned my RF cable and bought a scart - then it was in colour. only cost a fiver and improved the picture no end.

of course it might be different with having an NTSC PSX, so you could buy a converter (as already suggested), or use an NTSC-compatible TV (if thats an option, most newer PAL TVs are NTSC compatible)

Intrestingly enough, if you have a tv with scart taht doesn't seem to be NTSC compatible it can also wash out your screen. I for one would try using a boot disk with option to change the seting from NTSC to PAL (Burn one of the http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_utils_bootcd.shtml utilites to disk)
