CD Not Found Error

Hey all,

I just buit a new Rig and I bought Far Cry. After installing
it I tried to play it and it said that the CD was not found.
Medal of Honor and Battlefield 1942 do this also. The only
way I can play these games is to use a no CD patch. I dont
mind using the patches, but it just bugs me that this is happening.

I do have a CD-RW, so I dont know if that is causing the problem.

It could be a cd-rw problem. Are you running any copy programs? Like Alcohol or CloneCd. The copy protection on those games will black list certain burners or games. Try uninstalling those programs and try the games again. Then if they still don't work re-install the game with no copy programs on your computer. I don't understand why this would happen if they are the original game? ( UUMMM!) This problem only occurs when it is a back-up. I'm sure someone else on the boards can steer you in the right direction if I haven't helped.

Thanks for the reply. All I have installed is NERO and that came with my CD-RW. I dont have any virtual drives installed or any CD copy programs.

What brand is your cd-rw?

I have a Lite on LTR-52327

You need to find out what firmware version your liteon is. Then you need to see if there is an update. Try the liteon website. All the info I could get points to the firmware or it is a copy of the game. Sorry

I found your update for your Liteon. Please tell me exactly what the Model # is The one I found is LTR-52327S. Make sure you have the exact #. If you apply the update and it is the wrong model # then it could kill the burner. Send me your e-mail thru the PM on my post and I could e-mail you the file. It is a double click install exe. So it sounds easy as pie!
