Tim -

You can get a "trial" version which expires in about 3 weeks from SlySoft. It is not free anywhere, as far as I know. I paid $38.00 after my trial period. It is well worth the price IMHO.

Okay, its been awhile for me. But i use DVD Decriptor, then Clone DVD. Been that way since Clone DVD came out.
Is there is a bonus side to using Any DVD insted of DVD Decriptor?

Sorry. I have no experience with Decriptor. My experience with the AnyDVD/CloneDVD combination has been flawless.

Perhaps someone else could make a comparison.

I prefer DVD Decrypter because by putting dvd files into HDD first, your dvdrom doesn't need to spin all the time and will get a longer life, besides transcoding procedure will done faster if you have fast HDD.

I preferr using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. I have my pc set up with an external DVD Reader (whose laser I could care less about) and my new AO7.

It takes me a grand total of 50 minutes, nonstop to extract, compress, and burn a dvd. Other than the initial setting up of CloneDVD2, I dont even have to touch my computer for less than an hour to finish my dvd backup. I intend to cut that time in by another 1/4 by getting my 4x media in the mail.

I know. I was just pointing out that one of the negatives with that program is that it doesnt support those OS's. It also says that it doesnt get rid of Macrovision, which AnyDVD indeed does.
