Bad burn. Make sure your original is clean and not scratched and that you use decent media.

I've made a back-up of a scratched original, that had errors when trying to make an ISO, and it only froze on me once from the hours I've played it. I've already beat the game.

It seems like you have a bad-burn, clean your original and make sure it has no major scratchs.

Do you get any errors when trying to make an ISO?
Make sure ignore errors is off.

You don't need a patch for NFSU.

Same here, made a perfect copy of the game and the original was scratched to sh*t. No problems though whatsoever using RMax! Not to shabby of a game!

Did you get errors when trying to make an ISO? ...

I've had like ten errors when trying to make an ISO, yet the copy still works perfectly now. WEIRD

Nah, at first I was a bit doubtful of it actually working because of it's condition, but it went through the whole copying process without a hitch! Works perfectly too! Interesting......
