Talking Propeller Arena, taking donations.

Greetings.

I doubt any of you know me... and this is my first post. I registered just to spread this information... but I have a deal with a guy who owns a GD-R copy of Propeller Arena and wants to sell it to someone who's willing to rip and release it.

One of those someones is me. In fact, if I can come up with $1,500 by tomorrow night (Tuesday March 2 @ 11:59pm), he says the GD-R is mine.

I am, and have been, taking donations from Dreamcast fans - mostly at http://dcforums.net/ - toward buying the GD-R, and have collected roughly $635 so far.

For this purpose I've set up a PayPal account and Yahoo email account to which to send donations if you want to help out. If the email address is spammed/abused, or if the deal falls through, I will refund all donations back to their respective senders and kill the account.

The account is at taelonusa********com and accepts credit-card payments.

I know... This is madness, you think. Who the F is this guy and why should I trust him... Well, it's entirely up to you. Nobody's asking you to do something you don't feel comfortable with.

But this is real. Propeller Arena is within our grasp, folks. And you can be part of what is soon to be the most glorious moment in the Dreamcast's afterlife.

Thanks for reading. Updates to follow.

for all who donīt know anything about PA,
google for it, and/or
try to get the movies floating around.

get this:
ed2k://|file|DC.Propeller.Arena.-.Divx.Videos.(Japan-Gaming.No-Ip.Info).By.Kupra.rar|41491350|FAD3EF63CE4FBAD6C14 B546B86BFF762|/
~40MB

or this:

~29MB

or this for the game coverjust for future purposes)

ed2k://|file|Propeller_Arena_jap-front.jpg|91948|407A9EC3A0BD3E57CF69CE24D85E15CA|/
is for the game cover:

i maybe wrong but this game isnīt released
on any hardware. why?
no doubt. get the videos and decide about a
donation.

itīs one of this "unique" games
which lets you buy a dc somedays ago.

the viodeos suggest this game was developed
to an advanced status, i have no idea why this was
canceled and no other company brought it to
the public.

If the game (mostly)works like the videos let you suggest,
itīs worth a try.

Dang!

Nope... It's over It was almost within my grasp, then the owner of the GD-R informed me that I had been "out-bought" at practically the last minute... Someone simply PayPal'ed him a large amount straight from their credit card. Ahwell... so I won't be the one ripping and releasing it... But the good news is, Belokk probably WILL be the one. He isn't who won the GD-R but from what I hear, the buyer is letting Belokk have it to do the ripping. They're also planning something shady along the lines of "make and sell CDR copies for $20 each" before releasing the game to the masses via suprnova.org and other such venues... so eventually we WILL get a rip, probably within a few weeks, if not sooner.
I had about half of what I needed in donations and would've come up with the other half somehow, too. Ahwell, it's a bummer but all in all it's still good news. We're getting to play PA for real.

the reason it was cancelled was due to fears over the september the 11th incident. sega didnt exactly want to release a game at the time so soon where you flew about in planes shooting other ones down

Hehe, partially yes. Some of the donators were willing to let the site admin at http://dcforums.net/ have the money instead, for server upgrades. The rest went back to where it came from.

Would be cool if propeller arena would be released. there is something undeniably cool about playing games which are not meant to be there (Half life, thrill kill).

Maybe one day Soul reaver 2 DC and Castlevania DC

Belokk definitely is working on the Propeller Arena rip. It is expected to show up online within a couple weeks or so (that's what I'm guessing, anyway). I don't know what has become of the limited-edition for-sale CDR project, as all threads pertaining to it on the Assembler forum had to be deleted.
