NFSU is protected with Safedisc2.
To make a working 1:1 clone copy, that works like the original without using a crack), you need a cd burner able to do correct efm encoding.

Please look in the sticky posts. There is a link to list of burners able to do that. If your reader can do this, just start Alcohol 120%, choose Safedisc 2/3 profile and start creating an image file. Then burn it with Alcohol 120% and the Safedisc 2/3 profile.

All these will be an excellent choise, because they are "2-Sheep-Burners" (able to do correct EFM encoding).

Lite-On LTR-52327S ATAPI/IDE
Lite-On LTR-48125W ATAPI/IDE
Lite-On LTR-40125S ATAPI/IDE
Lite-On LTR-32123S ATAPI/IDE
Lite-On LTR-24103S ATAPI/IDE
Lite-On LTR-24102B ATAPI/IDE
Lite-On LTR-16102B ATAPI/IDE
Lite-On LTR-12102B ATAPI/IDE

If you have "a littlebit" more money for a new drive you can choose this DVD-Multi-Burner (DVD+R/RW & DVD-R/RW)

Lite-On LDW-411S ATAPI/IDE - DVD Combo
(burn DVD+R/RW + DVD-R 4x & DVD-RW 2x & CD-R 40x & CD-RW 24x)

Its also able to do correct EFM encoding.

There is also a Lite-On LDW-811S ATAPI/IDE - DVD Combo, but its the same as the 411S, only DVD+R will be burned with 8x.

PS: When you ask yourself "Why he praise all the Lite-Ons?" No, I don't get any money from Lite-On !!! lol

okay, so i just bought a cd burner (lite on - LTR - 52327S)

in the sticky thing it says that it has 2 EFM coding things. the thing is. i started alcohol. and then opened the file that alcohol had copied to my HD. then i click burn. and when it is finished burning i put it into my drive and start NFSU it still says, put a valid cd in a drive. what am i doing wrong. could it be that the drive i used to copy the nfsu disk from my computer to the comp isnt good enough?

Read the CD with your new burner to a image file. Use Alcohol 120% and it Safedisc2/3 profile for that. After creating the image burn it with Alcohol 120% and the Safedisc2/3 profile!
