Cant read PSX games ???

I know this topic should be in the PSX chapter but I don't think anyone will see it then. Anyway, when I try to back up any PSX game (black underneath) I start to read it with CloneCD it reads up to about 60-65 % and then it stops, I dont get an Error message but it sounds like it has problems reading the disc, I've tried all the discs in Both FF8 and FF9 with the same result. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to solve it?

I know it's not because of scratches 1. there aren't any scratches (almost) 2. the same problem occurs on all discs I have tried

one thing that is strange though is that i managed to back up the first disc of ff9 and the first of ff8 two days ago, i didn't do all of the discs then. Now when I try to read the discs that worked two days ago, they can't be read! at 66% the reader stops reading, starts again for about a second then stops, and starts again....
I had this problem before on an other computer but then I got an error message after a while sayíng something about sectors..

If I were you Id go to a friends PC and see if you can back it up there. And use the car polish trick youd be suprised how much it helps.

BTW Ive moved it to the PSX forum. Dont ever doubt your post will not be seen. I come here and check up often.

I've had more luck backing up (PS1) games using Blindwrite Suite. Burn an ISO file to the HDD and then simply copy using NERO.

You'll find a cracked version no problem. Check h**p://www******* regularly. There are some nice copying programs here amongst others.
