Ripping with Yamaha CDRW's

I was reading at Pointdreamcast.com that certain yamaha cdrw's were capable of ripping GDroms with having to use a serial cable. All it said was 400t models? Is that the model numbers? If not what are the models capable of doing this, and has anyone tried and can verify this?

all i have to say is lol. anyone in the scene long enough will probably laugh with me hehe. if you've heard of the serial cable method, why are you even considering this (its a cd drive, not a GD drive. its like trying to read a dvd with a cd player) stupid method? the damn cable is 25 dollars so if you cant afford that, your probably not gonna find even an old and crappy burner like that to fit your budget. it was apparently started by some guy who was selling his and he made a firmware patch to make it say dreamcast gd drive or something stupid like that. we had this discussion about 6 months ago so if dcisos were still up id recomend that you went there and checked it out...

25 bucks for a serial cable? Where can I buy one? I'm getting sick of downloading, and there are some of us who can't plug in our damn toaster without getting electrified, so I don't really wanna try making one.
