new ps2, whitch can read dvd+rw
hello i hope someone can answer my question.
if i buy a new ps2, whitch can read dvd+rw and -rw, does it work if i simply burn game backups on a dvd+rw, or is there any more copy protection on the original ps2 games. i want to know, if i need a modchip, too or does it work, to burn simply on a dvd+rw to play whith the copies without a modchip. thanks canyon

You will STILL need a modchip. By the way, the new PS2 will read DVD Movies (+/-R, +/-RW) without a chip (as will any PS2, but only v5-v9 will read the +R variant DVD discs). However, it will not play games, as they have a wobble groove which cannot be replicated. This is what the mod is for. This has been discussed on several occasions now, so do a search for more information.
