I Need Help Asap

I recently had a magic 5 mod chip installed in my 50010 Ps2. So far everything is great, it boots right off of memorex DVD +R discs, for the backed up games, however, i am unable to play regular DVD movies, or DVDR movies. The store that i bought and had the chip installed from said that he needed some time to get the correct boot procedures. He claims that with this chip to play DVD and DVDR movies, is the same as playing PS1 games, but we can figure it out. Can anyone that has this chip or knows anything about it,, please message me back either with a PM or post on here..

I also am having some problems regarding PS2 CD games, i dont quite understand, but,, do all CD PS2 games need a patch and if so,, where do i get the patches from, and how to i RIP/APPLY THE PATCH/ AND BURN THE PS2 CD GAMES?

thanks all

If it works anything like all the other chips out there, just hold down reset until the blue light comes on then put your dvd/r movie in and it should play.

yeah cause that dont work

I know that is the method that is posted almost everywhere for the magic chips, but,, it dont seem to work for mine. it just goes the the screen where it shows a disc and it wants me to press X and when i do,, it searches and cant find,, then goes to the same screen. This chip is slightly differnet then the Magic 5 cause it is programed for the 50001 PS2's

anyone else got any ideas??

GOT IT WORKING ALL MAGIC V (5) 50k

ok, for anyone else that has put this MAGIC 5 50K chip in their ps2, here is the boot procedure for non ps2 discs, ie dvd movies, and dvd r movies and ps1 games

• To play all kinds of PS2 games (CD silver/CD-R/DVD Silver/DVD-R/DVD9 All regions), put the PS2 into Standby Mode (red light) and press EJECT to open the disk tray. Insert the game into the disc tray and press EJECT or RESET to close the tray and boot the game.

• To play all kinds of PS1 Games (CD silver/CD-R All regions)and DVD Movies, put the PS2 into Standby Mode Red light). Press and hold EJECT for at least 2 seconds to open the disc tray. Insert the PS1 Game or DVD Movie into the disc tray and press EJECT to close the tray. You can also tap RESET and the PS2 will remain in this mode and boot the game.

• To disable the Modchip Function (Sleep Mode), put the system into Standby Mode (red light). Press and hold EJECT for at least 5 seconds to open the disc tray. Insert the game or DVD Movie into the disc tray and press EJECT to close the tray. You can also tap RESET and the PS2 will remain in Sleep Mode and boot in-region original games and DVD Movies. (The game or DVD Movie must be the same as the PS2 Region). The Magic V 50K Modchip is disabled until it has been put back into Standby Mode and will boot normally.
