New DCs this sunday? They work with cdrs?
Does anyone know if the rumors are bogus or not? If the new DCs coming out this sunday...expecially the sega pack version will work with cdrs? If they dont will that mod chip fix it?

All DC's have model numbers, I bought my one about 2 weeks ago and its model number is HKT-3030. This one does read CD-R's. This I think Is the latest model to date. If you are unsure, check the model number on the new DC's, if they are different then play it safe and try and get confirmation of it from the net before splashing out cash for trouble that can be easily avoided.

There is no info on the box, I checked my box. What you can do is go to the store and ask them for the model number - say its because you want to know so that an old mod chip will work on it - theres nothing wrong with that. If they cant give it to you, just wait and ask on the net at a later date. Someone would of bought one and confirmed whether it runs CD-R's or not.
Either way this is probably the last batch of DC's since Sega is quitting on its hardware and going software only - no joke. Their gonna be making games for the PS2 and maybe X-Box and stuff.... Imagine that... if I could see into the furture no-one would beleive me if I told them that. Check out this forum for the latest news on this... I suggest you decide getting an older model number ASAP... you dont wanna be stuck with having to wait for a new mod-chip to come out and no boot-disk will work... or having to buy an older model from E-Bay or a friend or something. Theres also a chance that these new machines may be fine, or that their not new models at all. ta ta now.
