New Tower

a buddy of mine traded me a new computer and I am going to put a couple of burners in it....The computer can hold 6 drives. Should I buy two more Pioneers and put my other two Cendynes in it so I could have four. Would that work.....Then my main computer would be free for ....well......WORK....The computer has two 160gb drives in it. Any suggestions are helpful.

4 burners? Is that really necessary? But hey it's your choice.

Not Really.....I rarely use the two I have at the same time....I am looking to sell it....SO I was thinking it would be a nice little tower for someone doing some major duplicating...I was just wondering if it would work and which burners would be best for the value so I could at least make my money back......Like I said....I hardly use two at a time let alone 4....Any advice is helpful....Thanx big

I don't know a whole lot about hardware, but you generally have primary master, primary slave, secondary master, and secondary slave. So you have the two masters for your two hard drives and the two slaves for two burners. I don't know how you go about getting two more burners in there. I know they have large duplication towers though, so it can be done but I am not sure how. Sorry I am not of more help. Maybe someone with a better hardware background will know.

As bighap said, most motherboards will have two IDE channels - allowing four devices in total. However, you can get a ATA PCI card that will add another two IDE channels so this will add the extra space you need.

For dvd burners...you can get very cheap pioneer 105's and if you need the dual format then there are also cheap 106's.
Cheap cd writers are easily picked up - Lite-on's
