F1 2001
hi. got the f1 2001 us and japanese version and when i booted it up on my ps2 it gave a jumping black and white video. I have a japanese scph 10000 ps2 and uses the swap trick (utility disc) to play games. Now I dont know the problem. Since after applying the ntsconverter and found that there is a pal hex and converted it and i booted it up again, it still gave me the same video jumpings (pal video) can anyone enlighten me here? also....is the ppf patch released by megagames on f1 2001 pal to ntsc or ntsc to pal? it said pal to ntsc but when i downloaded it it now says ntsc to pal...so which is which? i have already plunked down 5 cd's on this game.

You hint that you have PAL TV. If do you are in same position as I who has JAP PS2 (15000) and PAL TV. I can't answer your specific game problem, but the B/W issue is usually straightforward. The PS2 puts out through the AV whatever it sees on the CD (NTS for JAP/US/CAN; PAL for elesewhere). So you either need full AV signalling (via a fully loaded scart lead) or an NTSC to PAL convertor available from Maplins.
I've never got the NTSC-PAL patches to work. |

Hi,
As Charlie says either the famous (well by charlie anyway) Super convertor from Maplins or a super scart lead from Mackros or HMV the one to get is made by BLAZE, i can play any version backup on my PAL PS2 without having to apply those patches, plays in full colour. Also do you know if your TV can output both PAL and NTSC signals?? Well worth the money either way. Dal |

I have a NTSC TV and NTSC PS2. but when i load this baby up it outputs a pal video mode. dunno y? it is kinda weird. but i downloaded the two versions already...the US and Jap version and both gave me the same video output (PAL). anyone knows y this is happening? I have applied the ntsconverter by the way. It is from pal to ntsc.

PS2 will only put out PAL if the game is for PAL. Maybe you've already done this, but ####://www.pal4u2000.com under the link "How To" describes how you would discover, in conjunction with CDRWin, whether your game is already patched for PAL.
If not, how do you know it's putting out PAL? |
