Don't know why Alcohol 120% don't work at your friends pc... but Alcohol 120% is much better than CloneCD (at this time).

Clone CD has now been "sold" to Slysoft - was a few days ago. Anyway an update should arrive soon enough I imagine but I'll be sticking to Alcohol if it's not revolutionary.

hey, at least they have cloneDVD now! But that really isnt relevant to this site i guess. Hmmm, odd that cloneCD is ousted because of copyright problems, but copying movies on clonedvd is ok for them to do.

You must see that CloneDvd doesn't come with AnyDvd, which is for the copy protection, in germany. I don't know what version in other countries is being sold.

what is anydvd? Whatever it is or does, i'm still pointing out the same potential sameness in the illegalities of one program to the other.

if legal issues pushed clonecd out the door, then how can they make a program that's potentially the same, but for DVD's instead?

CloneDvd is in germany is in germany now nothingless then Nero burning rom, WinOnCd or so on. Nothing but a simple copying programm who can't get over any protections without the add-on AnyDvd.

your english is garbled and hard to understand.

But i think what you're trying to tell me is that unlike nero and wincd, this program cant....bypass dvd copyrights........but anydvd, wich it doesnt have, can.....so it is then not illegal, unlike clonecd wich would viably do that.

I'm not sure why you brought up germany.

You've got it.

Because in germany are all programms forbidden which can bypass protections or make a 1:1 copy. Very hard times here

AnyDvd is only to get passed along the DVD Protectionsystems.
Elby, who has now only got CloneDvd, has sold AnyDvd and CloneCD to Slysoft or so to Antigua. It may be sold over Internet.

So that Elby has no longer any rights of AnyDvd it may be possible, that CloneDvd can't copy or rip copyprotected DVDs. So its useless for making safety copys of your home cinema DVDs.

this is purely a question of curiosity, but does that mean clonedvd cannot rip a copyrighted dvd without anydvd?

because i saw someone do it, and i'm not sure if they had anydvd or not. BUT If you dont need it to do that, i'd say that's pretty illegal.

Again, i dont really care, but my curiosity is peaked.
