The Sound Skips

Lately, almost every psx game I burn has had skipping movies and sound, just what could possibly be causing this?

I recently got a new cdrom drive, an ASUS5224A, could this be the problem?

Also, now I am using Alcohol 120% to burn, could it be this program thats messing up my problems?

It cant possibly be the speed, because I am burning them at only 4x, so what is it that is causing the skipping? And is there any way to stop it?

Rule it out. Try using a different prog and your old burner if possible.

Ok, I tried a different program on one of the games, but got the same result, this was even at 1x

What I dont understand is that some of the games like Hot Shot Golf and Final Fantasy V work perfect, but games (mostly Bandai games) Like Gundam Battle Assult 2, Dragonball GT, and Strider 2 have skipping sound and movies, even when I tried loading the image itself in PsxMC to extract the movies/audio it had problems.

Can ripping an image too fast cause skipping? Is it possible all these images I have are messed up?

Don't have progs running in the background while burning, close anything you're not using while burning.

If you burn something at 4x that was ripped at 12x then effectively your copy was burnt at 48x.
Always read in at 1x to ensure a good copy is made.
