DVD copying help needed

Hi everyone,

I am pciking up my PS2 today. The modchip is a Magic3.1 and I have some questions:

1. Does the PS2 play SVCD on CDR?
2. Can I ripp DVD games to burn them on CD?
3. If not, what DVD burner would be suitable?
4. How high is the percentage (estimated of course) of DVd and CD games?
5. Anything I should think about else?

Thanks in advance.

1. Does the PS2 play SVCD on CDR?
NO

2. Can I ripp DVD games to burn them on CD?
YES - this is a subject well described in these forums. But you don't get the whole game, obviosuly and I don't recommend Ripping.

3. If not, what DVD burner would be suitable?
DVD burning is the best way. The Pioneer A05 is what people are buying now.

4. How high is the percentage (estimated of course) of DVd and CD games?
For PS2, new games are only released on DVD. CD games are lamer because there is less detail or activity.

5. Anything I should think about else?
Yes - the Magic 3.1 is weak at handling DVD rips but OK for other forms of backups.
