PSO problem

Does anybody know what all of that 'enter serial number' and 'enter access key' thing is all about when i try to play Phantasy Star Online? Somebody told me its to do with registering at the dreamarena...but i did that ages ago and dont remember getting a serial number. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
