Vice City wont run after installing
I tried to search this board to find the answer, but I may have missed it if it's there.
I've used both Blindwrite and Alcohol 120% to make back up copies of Vice City. However, after installing the game, I put in the Play CD to run game. Once I go to start menu and run Vice City, the CD responds for about 2 seconds, then nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? or is that what the NO CD patch is for? After installing game I also tried to run it with the original Play Cd and the same thing happens. |

Is that the only way to get the game to work or is that part of the troubleshooting? Are there issues with even the originals not playing? I havent loaded the original. I made a back up right away and stored the original since i have a 2 year old that likes to damage things.

Do this.....
Copy the hole cd to the harddisc... (If you using Windows XP copy the cddriver then paste in the harddisc......) If you using other version...go in the CD-rom and select all you files and maps...then copy to a map on the haddrive.. Run NERO burning rom, all the files to a new cd-rom (label it as the same name as the Orignal CD, don't forgett to close the cd.) Then install the game, and patch it to 1.1 (It will take out the SecuROM protection..... I think...... or just download the 1.1 crack and skip the 1.1 patch) Then run the game.

Thanks for the help. I burned copy using Alcohol, installed game, applied 1.1 crack, game runs fine now without cd. To save hard disk space, is there a work around to do the basic install and run music off the cd or is a full install the only way to make this work?

I don't think you'll like it with the music on cd, tends to create huge slowdowns in the game...
