HELP Messiah2 problems

I installed a messiah 2 myself on a V7. Ok sometimes my backups will work the I will press the blue button to put in a new disk (another backup) then press reset and some times the game will boot and other times it will go to the browser screen and have a crackling noise the go to a screen with a pic of the disk. I will select the disk then it will just go back to the same screen and a origanl wont boot. I really need some help!

A crackling noise? From the audio of your television or a physical noise from your PS2?

I've cleaned the laser eye with rubing alcohol, is that bad? what should I use to clean the laser? Should I even atempt to adjust the laser or is that something better left to the pros? Its a brand new PS2 if that helps any. Also I've looked for bridges like a million times (couldn't see any) and I just put electical tapr over the points.

cleaning these types of lasers with alcohol is a really bad idea, they damage very easily, don't know why sony uses such crappy lasers.
you should use a cleaning disc to clean the lasers, I got mine for like 10 dollars.
as far as adjusting the laser goes, anybody can do it you just have to be patient and you should take note of the how it originally is so if you can't get it working you can leave it the way it was at least.
tell me something does the machine do what you describe for both CD and DVD based games?
how does it handle DVD movies and PSX games.

Does it tell how to adjust the laser in the manuel?
It does the same thing for all games and movies.

Cleaning the laser is an okay idea. I've done about 50 now and have never knackered a laser. Calibrating is a bad idea in a big way. If U have version 5 or above then adjustment will basically kill yr laser in a very short time. Version 4 or below will give u a month or two before it dies.

Get a cleaning disc and run it through about 5 times dry. If no improvement the run it through wet about five times.

If still no joy then lift off ps2 top cover, lift of dvd drive top cover, get a cotton wool bud and some capstain cleaner and give the laser a gentle polish, first with alcohol dampened end and then dry end.

If tghis don't work then adjust yr laser but it is really sh1t or bust time. If yr laser needs adjusting then really it needs replacing...

Regards

PS if u have version 5 to 7 then do not even attempt to adjust the laser unless u have very good oscilloscope hooked up and even then it is a total mine field.( Trust me, I have tried!!)
