Ps2 problem

Hey, I recently decided to play an old fav game from my psx collection (ff9) anyways when i put disk one in my ps2 made really weird sounds trying to read it to no success, so i tried second disk as well and same thing even worse sound, 3rd cd no problem, 4th cd also no problem. Both cd 1 and cd 2 have no deep scratches maybe 1 or 2 minor ones. Anyways i tried some other psx and ps2 games and no problems... so whats the problem? Should I just burn myself 2 backup copies of the first 2 cds and use them?

It might just be those scratches.

i had this prob with cool boarders 2001 i made a backup and it worked fine
