Problem With PS2

When I turn the ps2 on and put a game inside its spins the game about 1/16 of a turn and completely stops. When I check the Browser its like theres no disk inside at all its not reading whatsoever. Its dosent read any game dvd or cd and It is not modded. SO does anyone know what the problem is? Thanx in advance.

hi

did you try the ribbon cable [brown one] from the lazer to the main board this happend to me but it comes up disk read error
on every thing just open your ps2 and on the top you will see it
lift up the clip and push the cable back in and push down the clip
if this is a new ps2 don't remove the sticker on the back just send
it back

Or just try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning disk (with brushes).

Is this problem why you opened your case or did you open it to mod it then this happened?

How old is the unit?

If it's still under warranty, don't open the case - just get it fixed or swap it out...

Maybe the post "Understanding DVD/DVD-R Issues" in theread http://www.fileforums.com/showthread...threadid=37313 will help you understand what the PS2 is doing.
