Newest X-Box version

What is the newest version X-box available? (if I were to go buy one today what would it be)

I want to buy one and MOD it so I need to know what I'm buying. Also, how can you tell what version you have?

the newest version in circulation is the 1.3 but saying that you may not get a 1.3 if you go to buy one. the safest method is to buy the xbox first then check it manually for the version then order the mod chip accordingley.

My problem is this...I can't solder too well so I wanted to get a Matrix chip...it seems easy to install. I don't believe the Matrix will work on the 1.3.

the chips get updated all the time and knowing it so will the pogo pins
