Traxdata 1X dvd-r

These ain't all that.

Have been trying to use them for a while. Yes, they got ritek dye.

I posted a while back regarding the fact that I had noticed some light patches on the written part of the write surface,

Well, used gtaVice as a test subject and did five back-ups.

I have solved the light patches. Noticed a couple of patches on all of them, and in the centre of the patches was a spec of dust, obviously interfering with burn process.

However, if I stuck copy back in and read an image off it it appeared to work okay leading me to believe that I simply had some weak but not unreadable sectors.

However, a month later and try to read an image, no luck, craps out leading me to believe that these dvd-r, despite being ritek dye degrade with time and are also highly unreliable.

Now use Riteks 'Clone Discs' and haven't had a problem yet but thoroughly check dvd-r for dust and also regularly wipe out the dvd writer tray.

Regards and hope this helps.
