modchip Q
I have a V1 playstation2 got it when it first came out.. i was wondering if anyone could help me with what kind of modchip to get for it.. i will have to put it in myself cuz i live out in the middle of nowhere...lol so how hard is it to put them in? thanks for your time

Don't bother modding a v1. Their lasers are crap. Sell it and get a nice new ps2 and get it modded with a Messiah 2. Unless you are experienced at soldering very small points, you should not attempt to install it yourself. Where you located? You can always mail it in to get it modded. Bill of freedomlives.com is the best.

Now, on the other hand, if you DO have soldering experience, it isn't the hardest thing in the world.
![]() But you DO need a very fine soldering tip, a very steady hand, a glue gun, and a willingness to (potentially) destroy your PS2. But Bighap is right - the odds that your V1 will play very many backups is slim to none due to the piss-poor laser used. ![]() - Gurm |
