How to patch a game???

Could someone please instruct me how to patch a Xbox-game so i can run it from my harddrive?.
I have found a patch for the game i want to patch but then what?.

Just update the BIOS on your chip to X2 4976.02. This BOIS has an auto patcher so you won't have to patch games, they will jjst play.
