Best Mod Chip For Me?
Xbox v.1.0
All I want to do is be able to copy games from my original discs to the Xbox's hard drive ... I'm probably never going to put a new DVD drive in it, I'll probably never upgrade the hard drive - I just don't want to keep swapping discs every time I want to play a different game ... An at the cost of Xbox games, I hate to keep swapping out discs. |

Well can you solder? If you can great. Then go with the Xcutor2 LITE.
If you can’t solder, go with the Matrix or the Xcutor2 LITE with the Pogo Pin Adapter. Now the thing is, you said you want to play all your games off the XBox HDD? You must not have very many games then? The XBox HDD is only 8GB and it will fill up real quick once you start uploading games to it. I would suggest going out and buying an 80-120GB if you going to do that. Unless you have a DVD burner. Its still “swapping disks” but it’s a copy and not the original so if it gets messed up, just make a new one.

Thanks guys! I've actually decided to go with the Xecuter2 PRO - That way if I have to flash the BIOS, I don't have to tear the whole deal apart to do it.
As for the disc swapping, I mean ... Whenever I choose to play a different game I have to change (original) discs. With the mod-chip in place, I can run them off of the hard drive - I don't have too many games, and the ones I have are "smaller" (drive space). I will consider a larger HDD if this first "experiment" goes well. The BIGGEST question now is ... WHERE do I buy one of these chips? I need suggestions on who is a reputable dealer (someone who actually has the stuff in stock - even if I have to pay a little more). |

Hey Quall, the mod rules have been changed. Have a look at the sticky in the ps2 section.

well, in that case, here is a list of sites that you can buy the x-ecuter 2 from. It's on the x-ecuter homepage

Again! I thank you kindly!
I ordered the X-ecutor 2 Pro and received it in two days ... Time to get to work ... I hope I don't ruin the motherboard by drooling over it while I'm installing the chip! I have to say that this has been the most informative, and friendly forum I've been involved with! Thanks guys!!
