Errors when trying to make image files

I've been trying to make some image files of some of my CD's. I've used a few different programs to try to do this, but I either get errors when I try, or it just doesn't do it at all. So far, I've used Alchol 120, Clone CD and Prassi PrimoCD Plus. I've come to the conclusion that it's not software, but a hardware issue. I have a Acer 20x10x40 CD-RW and Acer 56x CD-ROM. Both drives give out the same messages. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.

~Thanks in advance.

I don't think that's it. I can use my laptops CD-ROM to make ccd files with Clone CD, but it has a 4x CD-ROM, so you can see my problem. But thanks for the link, I did find some other helpful information in there.
