depends on wot mod u have.

If u have messiah or messiah 2 then I think it boots straight up usig PS1 boot method.

If it doesn't then u can definitely boot it up using the bonus disc 2 PS1 disc that comes with Action Replay 2/Gameshark 2.

Load this up, select start game, select without codes and then put disc in and should run straight up.

It is worth noting that if u trying to boot up a backup it must be patched as this was a protected game.

Regards

CTR runs fine, no special process necessary, on my v5+Neo2.5DVD - however I recall when I first made the copy (in PSX days) that this game was SUPER-picky about the media and burn speed. I had to drop the speed of the burner to 1x or 2x and use media that the game liked... and I _never_ have to do that.

Basically the Crash games are ULTRA-compressed. I mean, the PS2 Crash really should have been on a DVD, but instead it's on 400MB of a CDR, packed so tight that levels take a minute or more to load!

I used blind write suite for both, yes wrath of cortex is PS2 cd.

Can't see why cloneCD won't do it though.

Use blind write suite to make a cdrwin compatible image of CTR. Apply patch to image and then use cdrwin to burn it back. This definitely works. Also when burning the game try and burn as slow as poss ( like 1X ).

An easy way to tell which games are cd and dvd is by looking at the back of the disc. If its blue then it's a cd, if it is anything else then it's dvd. Or look at the box or top of the disc, it will either say cd-rom or dvd-rom.

Crash Team Racing is a protected game so I is assuming that u r patching the image before u burn it, If u dont it gets up to the loading level screen then freezes.

Err... protected?

Runs fine unpatched on my Neo chip.

Ran fine unpatched on my Stealth 2.7 (I think it was a 2.7) on my PSX.

What protected are we talking about here?

The Protection I'm talking about is the protection that the protection fix available HERE!! Fixes.

This is for euro pal version. If u did a straight back-up of the original without having to patch it then it probably wasn't the pal version.

If u do a back-up of the pal version without patching it then u get the symptoms discussed above.

Ahh I loved this game. There is no protection for the ntsc version. I remember just backing it up using cdrwin back in the days.
