Overall Question about ISObuster with games

I currently have copied Sim City 4 onto my girl's harddrive since the burning CD's wasn't going so good.

I have both images fully extracted onto the hard drive, now here is the main question and I hope someone has a definite answer.

While SC4 is installing, when it comes to the mid point of installation, it asks me to insert CD 2, but it's already extracted to the same directory that CD 1 is on. How do I get it to either keep on going by itself or alter some file so it routes to the hard drive instead of the CD drive so the game can install correctly?

If it's absolutely necessary to make a copy of the ISO onto a CD I guess I'll have another go at it, but it's just going to take more time than I wanted since everything is already on her computer right now.

Try using DEAMON TOOLS (www.daemontools.com).

I know with SIM CITY 4, you have to "eject" the current cd and put cd2 in its place. It's not a matter of simply having the image or contents in the same directory.

So, just mount CD 1 (using DAEMON), and mount CD 2 when it asks u for it.

I used to use ISOBUSTER too, but with DAEMON TOOLS I dont need to even bother extracting the damn thing, itll run automatically from the mounting image file.

Install of SimCity4 checks the CD Label/Name of the medium installing from.
So, when you rename your (your girlfriends) harddrive to the name CD2 has, it should work.

So, I have to rename her C drive to SimCity 4???

Can you be maybe a bit more specific? How do I know what Sim City 4 is looking for as far as installation goes?

Anymore help would probably fix this dumb little problem.

No.

Hes saying both ISO need to be in the same directory.

This is how I have most of my cd's set up

C:\LEGAL STUFF\SIMCITY4\CD1

C:\LEGAL STUFF\SIMCITY4\CD2

Like I said...

WWW.DAEMONTOOLS.COM man....just use that.

ALOT simpler.

Oh, ok. I extracted the CD 2 right into the CD1 directory, which I guess is a no-no.

So within the same directory I make a CD1 and a CD2 directory.

Mine might look like Desktop/Sim City 4/CD1 then CD2 next to that one.

Is that basically what you are saying?

OK, let me give you instructions for trying out:

- use IsoBuster to extract both images to one dir (both to same dir)
- rename the hd to the label CD2 has
- for renaming the hd choose properties from contex-menu, when clicking with the right-mouse-button on the hd in WinExplorer
- on top of the "now showing" property-window you can change the label of your hd

NOW YOU CAN TRY INSTALLING SIMCITY4 FROM HD.

Hope it works for you...

I figured the Daemon tools thing would work but for some reason it locks up at 2.02 percent installation and I can't figure out why.

I mounted the cd 1 and it just locks up everytime at 2.02 percent installation.

Is there something I am missing here about DT???

I have used ISObuster and DT and nothing is working here. I am technically doing everything right as far as I know. I'm still not clear on renaming my C drive to SimCity or CD2, but that is what I am about to try. DT seemed like it would be a snap, but apparently I am running into a snag.
