Lightbulb GrandiaII

Here it is for the last time...
I have a non-boot Grandia2 CD1 (Ech) which freezes at a certain point in game (in the fight with Millenia when the ZAP is used for the first time).
Is this fixable???

If so, can someone tell me how to fix it.

btw i managed to selfboot the game but it freezes at the same spot as before.

GrandiaCD2 that I have is selfboot and the gr2.afs is ~263mb, while on the non-boot CD1 is much less ~160mb. So i thought maybe i could use the 263mb gr2.afs file instead of the 160mb when making the CD1 (hoping it would fix things), but i have encountered a problem. The non-boot version is 79min with the 160mb gr2.afs, so the 263mb gr2.afs cannot possibly fit unless i take out some other files- but i don't know which ones

Could someone check if the gr2.afs file is the same size on the both cds, that would help... If they're the same then i would have to ask you for a huge favour which is to make a list of files (their names and folders) and post here so i know which files to exclude.

Why am i going through all this trouble you ask? The answer is simple- narrowband connection (56k). I really don't feel like downloading the game again.

Any help/advice towards solving this is greatly appreciated

I fear you have no other choice. Sorry to say that. Echel*n released two versions. The first one was non-boot. The Repack was selfboot. They released a Repack because they had to confess that their previous release was screwed up and freezes at certain points, and there was no way to fix it. Otherwise they wouldn't have had to release both CD's once more...
Don't bother with fixing I'd say...
