BOT is on a distinguished road
Ricoh is listed at Elaborabyte and seems fine, other doen't rate a mention.

Hi,
I'd go with BOT's opinion & go with the Ricoh.
It is a well known make, & is (as BOT mentioned) listed on ElaborateBytes which means it is should be suppoerted by CloneCD.
Just going to this page :- ####://www.ricoh.co.jp/cd-r/e-/e_asia/drive/index7200a.html & reading the info should give you enough reason to recommend it.
It uses the JustLink Technology which is pretty good.
Also uses Digital Control LSI which allows stable write at high speeds.
Very good build quality too.
I have not had any come back faulty from the many I have fitted.
The Intenso is a bit of an unknown. I did a google search for it & didn't find many searches relating to that burner. (Not in a language I could read anyway).
Another 2 that are top rate & worth considering are the PlexWriter 24/10/40A (which I have), & the TDK Cyclone 24/10/40.
Anyway, I'd go with the Ricoh out of the two mate.
The speed difference between the two is very small & probably wouldn't be noticed.

Regards,

Einstein.

Opinions vary but Clone CD comes close if not top of the list when writing software is considered. There site list all compatible writers and there capabilities with regard to copying protected games. I would agree with the above also, Plex 241040A. TDK cyclone 241040 are both excellent writers . I am waiting for my LiteON 241040 which rates along side the Plex but is around 20% cheaper. Try the Clone CD site for a bit of info. ####://www.elby.de/

I think the question you should akk yourself before bying a writer is will it correct efm enc####g of regular bit patterns? I think this is the key to safedisk2! The Ricoh writers will not
at least clonecd says not. I think I would look into the plextor px-w2410a it is a 24/10/40.
Now my question is where do you get the media to write at 24x? the writer will burn at 24x but can the media handle it?
KC........
