install assistance needed

We BOUGHT Yuri's Revenge a year or two ago (along with buying all the C&C games to date) and Yuri's developed a problem starting the game recently.

Also, we feel it is unfair to "crack" games unless you already own the CD and are trying to avoid using it to preserve it or, in our case, if there is some problem with it. Previously we have attempted to obtain replacement discs but it takes a long time and they sometimes charge a lot for them.

So, we downloaded two things, one a "nocd" file AND an executable & patch file. I used an rar extract program and extracted to "westwood\ra2" but it still asks for the disc. Obviously there is an error made when we did this and there are no instructions in the downloaded zip files so if someone could explain what needs to be done that would be great!

well, the first thing you need to do is make sure you downloaded the correct no cd file. It needs to be the same version as your game. Once this is done, you must extract the crack to your game file and replace the original exe with it, once this is done it should work. if this still does not work, get a new crack from www.gamecopyworld.com
www.megagames.com
or any other place like that, once that is done, it should all work fine

Thanks for the reply. I found a "main application" file in the Westwood folder which starts and runs Yuri's Revenge. That's where the new "no-cd" file was extracted but when you click on it, nothing happens. Any ideas? Please be specific! I am not a pro at this.

YOU have to be more SPECIFIC. What crack, os, game ver.,( and anything else you can think of) are you using....?

alrighty, when you extracted the no cd file to the game directory, did it ask you if you wish to overwrite the exe?? if it dident, then you put it in the wrong folder. if it did, then say yes. Now if everything has gone good to this point, then you can try to run the exe. If the exe is not working, then the no cd you got is for the wrong version. so just keep downloading diffrent cracks, until one finally works. hopefully this works, best of luck to you.
