True or not true and how ?

Somebody asked : Do I always need a modchip to play PS2 backups on DVD-R ?
Some people said no : as long you make a good backup .
Well let's say I would do that .
I have the sony dru 5OO, record now max ,latest nero etcet.
Can I make a good working backup ?
Let's say I do everything excellent
A good writer, burning program etc.
Can I succeed
Please an answer from all these "profs". Otherwise I stop now

Thanks a lot
greetings

BG is on a distinguished road
Technically, no you don't need a mod chip..... Just make sure you purchase another PS2, that way you will still have a working one when you screw up the first one...
Search the forum using "knife"... You will find out how to do it there.

Word of advice, BUY A MOD CHIP.... ALOT safer for your PS2.....
