Unreal Tournament
Well I just went to re format my computer, well I did re format and then I went to install unreal tournament. I downloaded the official patch for v4.36, it prompted me to enter my cd, and it wouldnt read. I looked at the CD and it was all screwed, COVERED with sratches. Well now im screwed and can't play, and was hoping someone knew where I could get the patch that doesn't require the cd...thanks for all your help

Hi Geno, you're out of luck then. Unreal upgrades are actual patches that _merge_ data from the old files with patch data, generating data for the new files. If the old files are (or, for that matter, the patch is) corrupted then there's no way of getting the new files. Try the toothpaste method...
Good luck,Joe

Or try to read it on the lowest speed possible. A week ago I managed to correct a faulty cd by using CloneCD to make an image and editing the "game cd" profile I used to use 1x speed. This will force your reader to use the lowest speed possible. Since this is usually 4x with modern drives, it's very possible that this may help you get all data back. It never hurts to try.
