Playing a PS2 backup without a mod or gameshark???

I don't have any mod or a gameshark, how can I play a ps2 backup??? Can I add a patch or take a file out when I burn the game? I have a 30001 ps2. Thankx

It depends on whether you are willing to sacrifice the console in order to play backups. You can boot backups using Unreal Tournament and preforming the knife swap but it WILL destroy the console.Save the console, Buy a modchip!!

The reason I don't want to buy a mod chip is that I don't have a dvd burner, and I don't see my self getting on for a while. Most of the games ive seen have been on dvd disc's.
