Why don't you just try it. You would have been done by now if you started it when you put up the original post.

I have a P4 1700 Mhz, 256MB RAM ddr, and it takes me about 20 minutes to rip a 2 hours film. (3 hours for Lord of the Rings)

In less powerful computer in 40 minutes you'll done it!

1st thing: If your going to be ripping ANYTHING, you should buy 2 different drives.... Buy a DVD writer for burning the things you rip and a dvd-rom for the reading duties......

A dvd writer is ALOT slower at reading a dvd-rom (especially a PS2 game) than a dvd-rom is....

I can rip a 7 gig movie to the hard drive in about 12 min....(using my lite-on dvd rom) If if were to use my A05 (dvd writer) it would take about 1 hour.....(this time was told to me by a few friends of mine, since I NEVER use my dvd writer for reading media)

It all comes down to how fast you want to be able to do things, and how much money you want to spend...
