Strange safedisc things....
Okay, I have a CyberDrv CW038D CD-R/RW 16X Burner and I mainly use Blindwrite and CDRwin....
I have been having some strange occurances with backing up my safedisc titles... My normal CDrom and burner are on the same IDE or something like that.. so I can't do a 1:1 simultaneous copy So I usually have to go through the long process of extracting the Bin / Cue or BWT file of the copy with Blindread and then burning with CDRwin. But with Mechwarrior 4 Black Knight and several other safedisc titles I have... they will not copy with Blindread... but yet some (like Morrowind and Tribunal) will. So I have some questions for the experts 1. Is the problem that Safedisc's infamous "bad sectors" don't get reported when the BWT or Bin/Cue file is extracted that leads to the bad burn? Do I need to invest in a burner that I can copy 1:1 simultaneously? 2. How do I find out if my burner can burn EFM (or EF something)? I doubt my burner can, but I want to be sure. 3. What is the best image to use for people who can't burn a CD simultaneously? I've heard of ISOs, CCDs, Bin/Cues, BWTs and it's somewhat confusing to which is the best form for defeating copy protection. 4. What is Raw data writing? My burner supports it, but there are different forms of this Raw mode... even something called Raw Cooked. What do they all mean?? Any help would be appreciated. |
