Pioneer DVR-105 faulty?

Guys,
just bought this and the drive doesn't any cd's. When i put them into my CD writer, the disks are read fine.
Theres also a sort of grinding noise that comes ot of the drive intermittently,
Any help guys?

WHAT!

Ouch! grinding noises! get the freakin' cd or dvd out of there now!!! take that crap back ASAP! of course it's faulty if it's making grinding noises and you've hooked it up properly and the media your using is ok... no drive shoud be making grinding noises... makes me cringe just to think about it! :-(
