Selfbooting Silver, fixing other games

Hey all

i am attempting to make my copy of Silver selfboot. Using the tutorial method and the bin2boot methods ended up producing an iso, bin, od cdi file that was between 4 and 7MB too large to fit on an 80 min CD-R.

the only help i have found on this issue so far involves downsampling the intro file...but this allows it to selfboot on a 74 minute CD-R, and drops around 80 - 90 MB.

I do not want to downsample that much, since i only need to lose at most 10 MB. anyone have any ideas?

on a side note, i recieved some dreamcast games that wouldn't selfboot or load with the boot disc. should i consider these games coasters, or is it possible to extract the data from them and try to make the game work again

thank you!

Megalexxx is on a distinguished road
1) you downsample as much as you want ! Make your own tries with your tools and see which settings removes 10 Mo.

2) it's sometimes possible to get some "coasters" work again. You have to know what you do since it's not often that easy. You should first look for a patch since some problems might come from protections. Then, try to remake your CD by making an image, then extracting every files and reburning the whole stuff.

thanx for the tips

the hardest things about down sampling the movie was

1. Not knowing where to get the programs and

2. Not knowing the initial settings the video was encoded at

after about 4 hours of searching and an hour of hit-or-miss downsampling, i finally got everything working nicely and now have a good looking, stereo sound, 80 minute self booting copy of silver. If the programs were more easily acceessable, i'd tell everyone to do thier own downsampling.

thanx for the help with that
