Angry n00b to copying-fifa 2003 backup problem

Plz Help!!!!

Im new to this cd copying business

i have a pc copy of Fifa 2003, i want to copy the cds for back up purposes.
But when i try and copy the cd2 with nero burning rom it has errors reading it, although it does copy it?

But when i try and play the game with the copied cds (cd2 needs to be in the drive) it starts reading the cd but nothing happens!!!!!

Has the originals got some form of encryption to stop u doing this?

Is there anyway around this using software, as im a total noob to all this?

many thanks

fifa 2003 copy

further to above:

i have read the faq as suggested, i think im going to:

1, use diskdump to copy a cue image of disk 2.

2,Then burn that image onto a cd using CDRWIN

would this be the quickest and easist way of doing this, considering the original disk is protected by safedisc 2?

Also would i be able to use nero instead of CDRWIN?

Can u see any potential problems?

thanks
