newbie-warcraft3 patch failed???

old fart newbie here. my first p.c with burner is nearly 2 weeks old now.so i know zip. i managed to back up a couple of older games no probs. but warcraft3 is a challenge. ii found out i need a patch to run it so i down loaded it into the file on my hard disc(it's compressed with (stuffit))(the patch is "war3patch102" but nothing happens. i have no young I T friends to ask. can someone please offer me some advice.
