GTA3 - no CD2 patch

Is there a patch or fix to stop having to insert disc 2 when playing Grand Theft Auto3?

It's best to patch to v1.1, and then use one of these nocd's.

Yep, exactly. Read the instructions carefully, however.

Thanks guys but followed your instructions and it still asks for cd2. CD2 is the audio cd and I guess I have to live with putting it in when I play the game.

Theres intstructions with the crack isnt there? I'm sure it says something along of the lines of copying the Audio folders from cd2 to your GTA Directory.

There are no instructions in the crack, just an app. file.

I will live with using the cd when I play the game. Thanks for everyones help though.

Hey, you're not giving up are you ? Just copy the contents of the Audio directory on cd 2 to the same directory on your hard disk and it should work fine. The directory on your hard disk will be "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII\Audio\" if you installed on your C: hard disk. Just copy all 597Mb of files in the Audio directory on disc 2 to this directory and you can play without the cd (if you installed a nocd crack).

Thanks. I must be doing something wrong because although I did everything everyone suggested I still need to insert CD2 when playing the game.

I thought I would give it a try to find a solution, and maybe I did not follow your instructions properly (I am not a novice), none of the fixes work.

Thanks again for your patience with me.

i have had the same problem, the update takes away the protection but doesn't get rid of the cd check to start the game, you need cd2 in to start the game, but you can take it out if the audio files are on you hard drive

Maybe the fix for different OS's is different. I run WixXP Home and nothing, including copying the audio files from CD2 to the game directory on the HD has worked.

GTA3 works with sound and no CD2

After hours trying different cracks, used:

GRAND.THEFT.AUTO.3.11.WIZARD.OF.DOOM.NOCD.ZIP

from www.megagames.com

It just wouldnt work, I deleted most of the BIG files.. the radio ones.. and copied the smallest file about 7 times and renamed them.. to what the one si deleted was.

Well if that makes sense :P

I got it working YES..

me chucks his Disc2 into the bin :P

btw.. I copied EVERYTHING that was on CD2 into the GTAIII Directory, not just the Audio.
