in search of firmware for sony crx 140e

i am really confused! i've read an article from the DDump founder and he claimes that sony & co. modified their firmwares so the burners are unable to copy this protection...
so i'd like to test it and downgrade my firmware to the first version - but i can't find any version earlier than 1.0n. my current firmware ist 1.0p

can any1 help me?

oh... the ddump article is here: http://62.212.130.96/hardware/cdrom/news/0102/sd2_truth.shtml

BOT is on a distinguished road
Although the Sony was mentioned the article had to do with Plextor firmware.

Hi,

it will be very difficult to find upgrades for the Sony drives. Sony doesnt provide any Firmware on the net, as far as I know. And I think your updowngrade wouldnt be successfull.

here a BASIC RULE : never change a running/working firmware of your burner !!!! I have the same sony drive, firmware n, but this firmware cant burn SD2 and it wont help you to upgrade :-)

Once again, no firmware of the Sony 140E will make it possible to burn SD2 games !!!! It wont work !!!!! Never. Not in the burner and with no chance in a CD-rom drive

i had the orignal firmware, 1.0 without any letters at the end, that might have been able to copy SD2, but i upgraded ages, hopefully if the drive breaks Viglen(R) will replace it with one that comes with the orignal f/w.

Forget about the firmware, i believe it won't work, so do other people, like the Daemon Tool guys. When a solution is finally available you will know about it.
