Boot Probs
I'm having a prob running a back-up of a game.
It seems that my PSX (old model and moded) wont recognize it. When it boots up it just takes me to the Browser screen. I tried the disk in my non-moded PSX. Do I need a boot disk or something? If so, where can I get one? |

You need a original PSX-Change boot disc or a mod chip.

NOTE: I've found out it was the OTHER PSX I have that has the MOD chip in it. So instead of taking me directly to the Browser screen, it just says "Please put in a PlayStation disk."
My PSX dose have a MOD chip in it. I've also tried leaving the disk lid open, and then closing with the game in it when the browser comes up. It just says "Please insert a game disk." So whats this "PSX-Change boot disc"? Where can I get it? Thanks for the help. =] |

Sounds like your back-up isn't copied correct. Have you tried a number of back-ups or just one??? If yr playstation is modded should have no problem booting it up. If the PSX is really old ( like 1000 series) then you could try putting the cd in and turning it upside down but it sounds more like the back-up has problems. Did you back it up yourself?? can you try other back-ups on it?

I have the original back-up, which my friend has played before on the system, the disk is a little scratched.
And then I have another back-up that I made myself from the ISO I riped directly from the actuall game. Both do not work. |

The psx is definitely modded??!! Have you taken it apart and had a look? This might be a way ahead as it sounds like it's not working correctly or that you have to do something to activate it ( like holding reset for a few seconds). Other than that, if it's a known good back-up it's got to be something to do with the chip. If it is modded maybe a wires come off. Best open it up and take a look!!
