Is my burner toast?

I think my burner is toast!

I will not read or write, and i've updated the driver, firmware and software, but it just wont work.

Is it time to get a new one? And if so, what should i be looking for?

There are alot of RAW-DAO-96 burners on the market that are very affordable.

I recently ran into this with my DVD drive, after refprmatting it was still dead.

There are a ton of burners out there cheap, not cheap burners good burners at and in expensive price and some with rebates that put them under $50.00.

Shop around and pick the one you want, I have even seen some DVD burners for around $200.00.

Its 40x12x40, which is strange. What is the second 40 for? The writer cant be that fast can it?

lg writers are cr*p,the lite on one i mentioned is a 48x12x48!!
yes the third figure is the write max speed
