dvd drive stops after game crash usp mod

hi all over the last 2 days when my ps2 crashes through the middle of some games (why never save that damm level) after switching the ps2 off and back on it goes straight to the browser
if you double click the reset button some times the dvd drive comes back on but if got to open it up and mess around with the dvd drive ect as its only been chiped for 2 weeks it,s getting a bit worring ( the dvd drive moves slightly then stops ) then all of a sudden comes to life again maybe after 15 minutes of pressing buttons ect it uses the usp external mod with the dvd region x
ps will be going in to the glasgow barras at the weekend to get it sorrted and possible new chip put in but any info in the meantime would be great cheers frank
