xbox interior redesign

i'm looking at purchasing an xbox and mod chip but i've heard that MS have modified the motherboard & interior design so that chips currently available won't work.

Is this correct and r there any mod chips out that will work in this new design?

Yes MS have redesigned the xbox. Not only will none of the currently available mod chips works they made a few more adjustments to make it cheaper to manufacture like taking out the cooling fan for the Nvidia graphics chip. Microsoft experiments on Australians with new product changes and this is the same for the xbox. The new box is in Australia and by now should be everywhere else. If you want to make sure you buy a v1, there's a hole at the bottom of an 'xbox box' , there you should be able to see the manufacturing date. If it's August 2002 or later it's probably and v2 (the date is written in the year-month-day format). Xtender was hard at work making a compatible mod for the new box as soon as it was released and they do have a working model but I think there are going to try and work out all the bugs before selling to the public. If you have to have a mod chip then you should go out right now and look for a v1 console before they are all gone. If you can’t find one maybe you should wait until the new mods are out and by then the price may even have dropped. Hope this info was helpful.
